He says he asked the management to specify in writing which photographs violated its policy and explain the reasons for their removal.Raihan says he had already removed photographs featuring political slogans and political figures because he understood the venue’s policy to prohibit political content. He describes the works as street photography documenting events, including protests in India over the past year, alongside other photographs. He also questions why photographs featuring the Indian national flag became an issue. According to Raihan, the dispute escalated shortly before the exhibition’s scheduled opening, leaving his team with little time to respond. The controversy has raised questions about the boundaries between artistic expression, venue policies and the documentation of political events. The venue’s management had not issued a substantive public response in the reports available at the time of publication.Watch Raihan Vadra’s exclusive conversation with CNN-News18 for his account of what happened, the photographs at the centre of the dispute and his questions over the decision. n18oc_indian18oc_breaking-news CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
